About Leandro Pereira de Costa
Leandro Pereira da Costa, 34 years-‐old, born in the state of Pernambuco, Brazil, has a graduate degree in Industrial Design and is specialized in Visual Programming at the University of Estácio de Sá (Rio de Janeiro). He deepened his critical and esthetic training in painting, photography, and cinema in 2005 by taking courses at the School of Visual Arts of Parque Lage, at Rio de Janeiro.
From 2011 - 2012, he specialized in Contemporary Philosophy at the Center for Philosophy and Humanities at the State University of Rio de Janeiro (UERJ).
Costa lived for a year in Miami and in New York and has already held important individual and collective
exhibitions in Brazil and abroad. Some of the highlights were: Rio, at Salt Fine Art Gallery, Laguna, CA, USA, in 2014; Exhibitions Program, at the Art Museum of Ribeirão Preto, São Paulo, Brazil, in 2012; and Exhibitions Program, at the Contemporary Art Museum of Goiás (MAC-‐GO), Brazil, in 2010.
His research focuses on architecture and on the reminiscences of the modernist project. His art discusses a constant dialectic between writing and language, aesthetics and politics, and media and means.
Costa is currently taking a bachelor degree course at the Center for Communication, Tourism, and Arts of the Federal University of Paraíba (UFPB). He works as a photographer, cameraman for cinema and audiovisual products, camera fitter and AVIDMedia Composer editor.
