ARTIST STATEMENT ABOUT THIS PIECE
This piece originated from a photograph of an abandoned basketball court that I enhanced with spray paint to highlight the court's texture. I then took close-up photos and printed them on a wood structure specifically designed for these basketballs and masks. The details are enclosed with gold leaf, drawing two basketballs. The result is a piece where the court appears to float, mimicking the bounce of basketballs and creating new dynamics and possibilities with the abandoned space.
